Papa Flooring Ltd ("Papa Flooring", "we", "us") is a commercial flooring business based in British Columbia. This policy explains how we handle personal information collected through this website and in the course of our business. We aim to follow the principles of Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA): we collect only what we need, we tell you why, and we protect it.

What we collect
Information you give us. When you submit our consultation request form, we collect the details you enter: your name, company, phone number, email address, the flooring system you are interested in, the approximate area, the project location and your message. The form also records the address of the page you submitted it from, so we know which service or area you were looking at. If you email, phone or send us drawings, we keep that correspondence and the information in it.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the date and time. If analytics or advertising tools are enabled (described below), they may also collect information about how you use the site through cookies or similar technologies.
We do not ask for, and you should not send us, sensitive information such as health details, government identification numbers or payment card numbers through the website.
How we use it
- To respond to your enquiry, arrange a site assessment and prepare a proposal
- To plan, carry out and follow up on flooring work you have engaged us for
- To keep business records and meet our legal, accounting and tax obligations
- To understand how the website is used and improve it
- To measure and improve our advertising, if advertising tools are enabled

We will not use your personal information for a new purpose without telling you and, where required, getting your consent.
Consent
By submitting the consultation form or contacting us, you consent to us using your information to respond to you and for the related purposes above. You can withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual limits, by contacting info@papaflooring.com. If you withdraw consent, we may not be able to provide some services.
Service providers and where your information is stored
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run this website. They process information on our behalf and only for the purposes described here.
- Netlify, Inc. (United States) hosts this website. Our consultation form is processed and stored by Netlify Forms, and each submission is then emailed to us.
- Google serves the fonts used on this site (Google Fonts). When your browser loads a page, it requests the fonts from Google's servers, which receive your IP address and browser information.
- Google Search Console and Google Analytics may be used to understand how people find and use the site. Analytics information is generally reported to us in aggregate.
- Meta Platforms (the Meta Pixel), if enabled, helps us measure and improve our advertising on Facebook and Instagram, for example by counting form submissions that came from an ad.
- Our email provider, which stores the form submissions and correspondence we receive.
Processing outside Canada. Some of these providers store or process information in the United States and other countries. While it is outside Canada, your information is subject to the laws of those countries and may be accessible to their courts, law enforcement and national security authorities. By using this website and submitting the form, you acknowledge that your information may be processed outside Canada.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
Analytics and advertising tools may use cookies or similar technologies to recognise your browser and record how you interact with the site. If we enable the Meta Pixel, information about your visit (such as pages viewed and whether you submitted a form) may be shared with Meta, which may link it to your Facebook or Instagram account under Meta's own privacy policy.
You can limit this tracking:
- Adjust your ad settings in your Meta account (Accounts Centre, Ad preferences) to control how Meta uses activity from other websites to show you ads.
- Block or delete cookies, or block third-party cookies, in your browser settings. Most browsers also offer tracking protection or private browsing modes.
- Use the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, or adjust your Google ad settings in your Google account.
- Opt out of interest-based advertising from participating companies through the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada's AdChoices program.
Blocking cookies will not stop the website from working, although some features may behave differently.
Email and Canada's anti-spam law
We send commercial email only where permitted under Canada's anti-spam legislation (CASL), for example in reply to your enquiry, to business contacts who have given consent, or where another legal basis applies. Every commercial email we send identifies us, includes our contact information and includes a way to unsubscribe. You can also unsubscribe at any time by emailing info@papaflooring.com, and we will process your request promptly and within the time CASL requires.
We do not sell your information
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only with the service providers described above, with suppliers or subcontractors where needed to carry out your project, or where required by law.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiries and project records for as long as needed for our business relationship with you, and afterwards for as long as needed to meet legal, accounting and tax obligations or to deal with any warranty or workmanship questions. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.
How we protect it
We use reasonable safeguards for the sensitivity of the information, including password-protected accounts, limiting access to people who need it for their work, and using service providers that apply their own security measures. No website or email system is completely secure, so please do not send highly sensitive information through the form or by email.
Your right to access and correct your information
You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask how it has been used or disclosed, and ask us to correct anything that is inaccurate or incomplete. Send your request to info@papaflooring.com or by mail to the address above. We may need to confirm your identity before responding. We will respond within the time required by law, generally 30 days, and will explain if any legal exception prevents us from providing some information.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia or the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
